Yet again we gave our daughter another first experience. We took a drive to Granny Mae's Pumpkin Patch in Dorance, KS. (FYI for anyone wanting to visit: After driving through the middle of nowhere for half an hour we came to the conclusion that the interstate is the best way to get to the pumpkin patch.) once we arrived in our dusty VW we were greeted by around 50 cars parked in the field. We assumed the patch would be full but carried on anyway. It was a pleasure to find out the farmstead is laid out well and at no point in time did we feel crowded. The patch consists of well a pumpkin patch a few rides and activities for kids and gift-shop. Concession are sold at the entrance. It was a nice atmosphere and surprisingly not overly loud. The landscape also presents many family photo opportunities which I can imagine was purposeful. I would recommend anyone with a small child takes a visit. Admission is free and pumpkins are reasonably priced.
